1. Who We Are

ViralHook AI is a Chrome browser extension developed by darkmessiah0071 ("we", "us", "our"). This policy describes how our extension handles your data.

2. Data We Do Not Collect

We want to be unambiguous: ViralHook AI does not collect, transmit, store, or share any personal data.

Specifically, we do NOT collect:

— Your name, email, or contact information
— Browsing history or visited URLs
— Video content or page content you analyse
— Topics or niches you enter
— Generated hooks, scripts, or captions
— Device identifiers or IP addresses
— Usage statistics or analytics

3. On-Device AI Processing

All AI generation is performed using Google's Gemini Nano model running locally in Chrome via the Chrome Built-in AI (Prompt API). Your prompts, topics, and generated content never leave your device and are never sent to any external server — including ours.

The model itself (~4 GB) is downloaded once by Chrome directly from Google's servers as part of Chrome's built-in functionality. This download is governed by Google's Privacy Policy.

4. Local Storage

The extension stores the following data locally on your device only using Chrome's chrome.storage.local API:

— Generation history (your past hooks and scripts)
— Daily usage count (to enforce the free tier limit)
— Platform preferences

This data exists only on your device and is never transmitted anywhere. You can clear it at any time via the History tab → "Clear All", or by removing the extension.

5. Payments & Pro Subscriptions

Pro subscriptions are processed by ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com), which uses Stripe for payment processing. When you upgrade:

— You interact directly with ExtensionPay and Stripe's secure checkout
— We never receive or store your payment card details
— ExtensionPay may store your email address to manage your subscription
— ExtensionPay's privacy policy applies: extensionpay.com/privacy

The only data flow between our extension and ExtensionPay is a boolean "has this user paid?" check — no personal data is included in this check.

6. Permissions We Request & Why

activeTab — To read the currently active tab's URL so you can extract trend data from TikTok, Reels, or Shorts pages you're viewing. We do not read any other tabs.

scripting — To inject a content script on supported video pages so we can extract publicly visible page content (title, description, captions) for trend inspiration. This only runs on TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram when you trigger an extraction.

storage — To save your generation history and preferences locally on your device.

clipboardWrite — To copy generated hooks and scripts to your clipboard when you click a copy button.

extensionpay.com host permission — Required for ExtensionPay to verify your subscription status.

7. Third-Party Services

The only third-party service this extension communicates with is extensionpay.com, and only to check whether your account has an active Pro subscription. No personal data is transmitted in this check.

The extension does not use any analytics services (Google Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.), crash reporting services, or advertising networks.

8. Children's Privacy

ViralHook AI is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us and we will address it promptly.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy if the extension's functionality changes. Updates will be reflected with a new "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

10. Your Rights

Since we collect no personal data, there is nothing to request access to, correct, or delete on our end. Any data stored locally (history, preferences) can be fully deleted by clearing extension storage or uninstalling the extension.
