Privacy Policy — ResumeForge AI Chrome Extension — Effective:

1. Information We Collect

We collect no personal information.

Resume text is stored exclusively in Chrome's local storage (chrome.storage.local) on your own device. It is never transmitted to any server, never read by us, and is deleted when you clear it or uninstall the extension.

Job descriptions are read from the visible page you are viewing and processed locally. They are never stored beyond the current session and are never transmitted anywhere.

Daily usage count is a simple counter stored locally on your device to enforce the free tier limit. It contains no personal information and resets each day.

We do not use cookies, analytics, advertising trackers, crash reporting services, or any other form of third-party data collection.

2. On-Device AI Processing

All AI analysis is performed locally using Google's Gemini Nano model, which runs entirely within Chrome on your device via Chrome's built-in Prompt API. No resume data, job description data, or analysis results are transmitted to any external server for AI processing.

The Gemini Nano model is downloaded once by Chrome (approximately 5 GB) and stored on your device. Once downloaded, the extension works fully offline.

3. Payment Processing

Paid subscriptions are processed by ExtPay (extensionpay.com) via Stripe. Payment information — including card details and billing address — is handled entirely by Stripe and ExtPay. We never receive, see, or store your payment card information.

ExtPay stores your email address solely to verify your subscription status when the extension checks whether you are a paid user.

4. Permissions

ResumeForge AI requests only the minimum permissions necessary to function:

Permission	Why it is needed
activeTab	Reads visible job description text from the tab you are viewing, only when you click "Analyze Job Match". Cannot access any other tab and performs no action without your direct activation.
scripting	Injects a script to extract visible text from the current page's DOM when you click Analyze. Reads text only — does not interact with page elements, submit forms, or automate any actions.
storage	Stores your resume text locally on your device between sessions, and stores your daily usage count. Nothing is synced to external servers via this permission.
host_permissions (extensionpay.com)	Required by ExtPay to verify your subscription status and process upgrades via Stripe. Used only when the extension popup is open.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell, rent, share, or disclose any user data to any third party for any purpose. The only third-party service involved is ExtPay/Stripe for payment processing, as described in Section 3.

6. Data Retention & Deletion

To delete your resume — click the "Clear" button inside the extension at any time.

To delete all data — uninstall the extension. Chrome automatically removes all associated local storage on uninstall.

We have no server-side data to delete on your behalf because we hold none.

7. Children's Privacy

ResumeForge AI is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date above will be updated when changes are made. Continued use of the extension after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
