🔒 Plain English Summary
FlashForge AI does not collect any personal data. All flashcard generation happens locally on your device using Chrome's built-in AI. Nothing you study is ever sent to us or any third party. The only external connection is to verify your subscription status if you choose to upgrade.
1. Who We Are
FlashForge AI is a Chrome extension that generates educational flashcards, quizzes, and spaced repetition schedules from web page content using on-device artificial intelligence.

2. Data We Do NOT Collect
We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to any of the following:
- The content of any web pages you visit or scan
- The flashcards or decks you generate
- Your browsing history or behaviour
- Your name, email address, or any personal identifiers
- Your location or device identifiers
- Any health, financial, or sensitive personal data
- Any user-generated content of any kind
3. How the AI Works
FlashForge uses Chrome's built-in Gemini Nano model via the Chrome Prompt API. This means:
- All AI processing runs locally on your computer
- No text is sent to Google, Anthropic, or any AI provider
- No text is sent to FlashForge servers
- The model was downloaded once by Chrome and runs entirely offline
If Gemini Nano is unavailable on your hardware, the extension uses a local keyword extraction algorithm. This also runs entirely on your device with no network requests.
4. Data Stored Locally on Your Device
The following data is stored locally using Chrome's storage API and never leaves your device:

You can delete all locally stored data at any time from the extension's Settings panel.
5. Payment and Subscription
If you choose to upgrade to a paid plan, payments are processed by ExtPay (extensionpay.com) and Stripe. When you verify a payment, FlashForge makes a single network request to extensionpay.com to confirm your subscription status. This request contains only your extension installation identifier — no page content, no personal data.
FlashForge never receives or stores your payment card details. All payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe under their own privacy policy.

7. Third Parties
FlashForge does not share data with any third parties. The only third-party services involved are:
- ExtPay / Stripe — only contacted when you verify a paid subscription. No page content is shared.
- Google Fonts — the extension UI loads fonts from Google Fonts. This is a standard browser request containing no personal data beyond your IP address, handled under Google's privacy policy.
8. Children's Privacy
FlashForge AI does not knowingly collect any information from children under 13. The extension collects no personal data from any user of any age.
9. Changes to This Policy
If we make material changes to this privacy policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. Continued use of the extension after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
