BestCraft AI ("the Extension", "we", "us") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains what information the Extension accesses, how it is used, and your rights.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

BestCraft AI does not collect, transmit, store, or share:

• Personal identification information (name, email, address, phone)
• Browsing history or visited URLs
• Chat conversations or questions you ask the Extension
• Device identifiers or fingerprinting data
• Usage analytics or telemetry
• Cookies or tracking pixels

2. Local Storage

The Extension uses chrome.storage.local to store the following data exclusively on your device:

• Onboarding status — whether you have completed the first-run tutorial
• Daily question count — to enforce the free-tier daily limit (resets each day)
• Chat history — your recent conversations, stored locally so they persist between browser sessions. Never transmitted externally.
• Premium status cache — a local copy of your subscription status to allow offline use
• Review reward state — whether you have claimed the 30-day Premium reward

All of this data stays on your device and is never sent anywhere.

3. AI Processing (Gemini Nano)

Premium users may use Chrome's built-in Gemini Nano AI model. This model runs entirely on your device using Chrome's built-in capabilities (the Prompt API). Your questions and the AI's responses are processed locally and never transmitted to external servers by this Extension.

4. Payment Processing (ExtensionPay)

Premium subscriptions are handled by ExtensionPay (extensionpay.com), a third-party payment processor. When you upgrade:

• Payment details are processed directly by ExtensionPay/Stripe
• The Extension communicates with extensionpay.com only to verify your subscription status
• We receive only confirmation of whether your subscription is active — no payment details are accessible to us

5. Permissions

BestCraft AI requests only the minimum permissions required:

• storage — to save your settings and chat history locally
• alarms — to keep the background service worker alive and check your subscription status periodically

The Extension does not request permission to read your browsing history, tabs, bookmarks, clipboard, camera, microphone, or any other sensitive data.

6. External Communications

The only external server BestCraft AI communicates with is extensionpay.com, solely to verify your premium subscription status. No other external requests are made.

7. Children's Privacy

BestCraft AI does not knowingly collect any information from children under the age of 13. Given that no personal data is collected at all, the Extension is safe for users of all ages.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy. Changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the Extension after any changes constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
